Speeders in action during the Airspeeder EXA Series 2023 at the Stonefield Airport in South Australia. Airspeeder EXA Series 2023 returns to South Australia at Stonefield Airfield, featuring the first-ever three eVTOL “Speeder” race with F1 legend and Airspeeder ambassador Bruno Senna, Drone Champions League pilot Zephatali Walsh and female drone racer Lexie Janson. This was a first for me to see theses 4 metre plus long Drones being remotely piloted hitting speeds over a 100km. The future could be interesting as the organisers of this event eventually introduce pilots on board the vehicles.

These events will be hosted on every continent and provide a vital place and space for the Advanced Air Mobility industry to rapidly accelerate technology and build mass enthusiasm and awareness for world-changing eVTOL technology (electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles). The Airspeeder EXA Series, with vehicles built by sister company Alauda Aeronautics, will serve as the technical and pilot proving ground for the world’s first crewed electric flying car races starting in 2024. The event was sponsored by Intel, the South Australia Government, IWC, Acronis, Saltwater Games and Telstra Purple. David Mariuz/Airspeeder for Shutterstock
