I had been watching these common spotted doves for weeks as they nest and tend to their young in our Tahitian lime tree. Often they would give birth to multiple young, sometimes up to three would be born. But it was never straight forward and I watched with excitement and then sadness as inevitably the young would often die. Luckily these doves are prolific breeders and within a few weeks more young would take their places. Then comes the joy of watching the strongest young learn to fly and then continue feeding in our garden untill to soon becomes and adult and the cycle continues.
